one6G Association joins ITU as an ITU-R Associate of Study Group 5
We are excited to share that one6G is now officially an ITU-R Associate of Study Group 5 (SG 5)—marking a key milestone in our commitment to contribute to global ICT standardization and innovation.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies, unites 194 Member States and more than 1,000 industry and academic stakeholders in a unique, trusted, and inclusive platform to shape the future of global communications.
ITU-R Study Group 5 is mandated by the ITU Radio Assembly to lead the technical studies of radiocommunication systems and networks operating under the fixed, mobile, radiodetermination, amateur, and amateur-satellite services. As the lead group within the ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) for terrestrial networks and systems, SG 5 plays a vital role in developing technical standards and recommendations, addressing topics from spectrum management to the evolution of radio technologies. Its work supports the global coordination of radio frequencies and informs policies and practices adopted worldwide.
By joining ITU as an ITU-R Associate, one6G is stepping into a more active role in shaping the future of communications, particularly in the context of 6G and beyond. We look forward to contributing to the development of new Recommendations, Reports, and collaborative studies, supporting the ITU’s mission to advance equitable and sustainable connectivity across the globe.
This affiliation reinforces one6G’s dedication to international collaboration, technological excellence, and active engagement in the standardization landscape.
