5G-ACIA & one6G Web Seminar | 6G Use Cases for Industrial Automation

6G Use Cases for Industrial Automation

The joint 5G-ACIA & one6G webinar will take place on 15 July 2026 | 15:30–17:20 CEST.

Moderator: Dr. Michael Hertwig, Head of 5G-ACIA Office

PART 1

Industrial Requirements and the Evolution from 5G to 6G
Speaker: Michael Bahr, Siemens (5G-ACIA)

As industrial wireless connectivity continues to mature, the evolution from 5G to 6G presents new opportunities to support increasingly demanding industrial applications. This presentation will explore the current state of industrial 5G deployments, key lessons learned from early adoption, and the technical and operational requirements that future 6G systems must address.

Participants will gain insights into how industrial automation requirements are shaping the development of next-generation wireless networks and which capabilities will be essential for future smart factories.

PART 2

6G in Robotics Applied to Recycling
Speaker: Al Costa, Tekntrash (one6G)

The recycling industry is becoming an important application area for intelligent robotics and advanced wireless communication. This session will showcase how 6G technologies can enable autonomous recycling robots through ultra-reliable connectivity, real-time data exchange, and AI-driven decision-making.

The presentation will cover collaborative robotic systems, intelligent waste sorting, and holographic telepresence for remote operation and maintenance in hazardous environments, demonstrating how 6G can accelerate sustainable and autonomous industrial processes.

PART 3

Industry Perspective: Future Industrial Networks and Automation
Speaker: Xueli An, Huawei (5G-ACIA)

Industrial communication networks are expected to evolve significantly with the introduction of 6G. This presentation will discuss future industrial network architectures, the role of private wireless networks, and emerging connectivity concepts designed to support increasingly autonomous manufacturing environments.

Attendees will learn about the opportunities and challenges of integrating 6G technologies into industrial automation and how future network capabilities can enable more flexible, resilient, and intelligent production systems.

PART 4

Future of Robotics with Connected Intelligence
Speaker: Javan Erfanian, Veezhen (one6G)

The convergence of 6G connectivity, embodied AI, and intelligent robotics is expected to fundamentally transform industrial automation. This presentation will introduce the concept of connected intelligence, highlighting how mobile agentic AI, physical AI collaboration, and advanced teleoperation can unlock new levels of autonomy and productivity.

Participants will gain insights into future architectural frameworks and solution requirements for deploying intelligent robotic systems powered by next-generation wireless networks.

PART 5
