one6G releases the 4th edition of the “6G Technology Overview” White Paper
During the one6G Summit 2024, held in Valencia, Spain, on September 5-6, one6G released the fourth edition of its White Paper, titled “6G Technology Overview.”
The document outlines the key enabling technologies that constitute the pillars for the evolution toward 6G, including, but not limited to: Terahertz frequencies, 6G radio access, next-generation MIMO, integrated sensing and communication, non-terrestrial networks, multimodal sensing, computing, communication and control for 6G remote operation, distributed and federated artificial intelligence, intelligent user plane, flexible programmable infrastructures, and sustainability. The paper not only provides the background on how and why each enabling technology is relevant to 6G (backed up by several relevant use cases) but also describes the technology in detail, outlining the key problems and difficulties, and providing a comprehensive overview of the state of the art.
As 6G is not limited to the described ten technologies, the future versions of this White Paper may include not only the advances in the previously described technologies but also an overview of other relevant technologies that are yet to emerge and play a role in 6G.
