one6G turns 4 years old

4 years of driving 6G innovation 

As our asssociation celebrates its fourth anniversary, we take a moment to reflect on how far we have come in shaping the future of wireless communications. Since March 2021, our growing global community has been dedicated to advancing, testing, and promoting next-generation cellular and wireless technologies. Along the way, we have achieved significant milestones: 

• 128 members from 33 countries have joined our association, bringing together academic and industrial expertise from across different domains. 

• Our Working Groups have remained at the forefront of innovation, launching new Work Items and expanding one6G’s research scope. We now have 20+ active Work Items, with several additions in the pipeline. 

• We have released 13 papers so far, the latest one exploring the transformative role of 6G in advancing robotic applications across various industries. 

• We provided five contributions to the ITU-R’s “IMT Vision for 2030 and Beyond” and look forward to further shaping the future of global standards. 

• We organized four succesful editions of the one6G Summit, bringing together hundreds of experts from around the world. 

• We participated in numerous events, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across the 6G ecosystem. 

Looking ahead, we are more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of 6G research and collaboration: 

• Our Open Lectures series continues, with the next session focusing on Electromagnetic Signal and Information Theory scheduled for April 30. 

• We are endorsing a special session “Understanding and Shaping the Role of In-Network Computing for 6G Networks” which will take place at the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025 in Poznań, Poland. 

• We are gearing up for the fifth edition of the one6G Summit, set for September 18-19, 2025 in Bologna, Italy, where we will dive deep into the standardization of 6G. Stay tuned for more details on the agenda and speakers! 

As we step into our fifth year, we extend our gratitude to our members and partners who drive one6G’s mission forward. The journey is far from over—let’s continue shaping the future of wireless!
