one6G and CEPT-ECC sign LoU to advance 6G development

The one6G Association has signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the CEPT Electronic Communications Committee (ECC), marking an important step in strengthening international collaboration on the future of 6G technologies. The agreement was signed on September 18, 2025, during the one6G Summit 2025 in Bologna, Italy, by Prof. Mohammad Shikh-Bahaei, President of the one6G Association, and Henk Verkerk, Vice-Chair of the ECC.

Through this LoU, the two organizations commit to exchanging information and seeking compatible approaches concerning the use of radio frequencies in the context of 6G technologies and solutions. They will also share knowledge on programs and results of work in areas of mutual interest, supporting evaluation, dialogue, and closer cooperation in shaping the 6G landscape.

This collaboration highlights one6G’s dedication to fostering strategic partnerships with leading international organizations, ensuring that 6G development benefits from diverse expertise and harmonized approaches to spectrum and technology evolution.

The Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) is one of three business committees of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), an organization uniting policymakers and regulators from 48 countries across Europe to strengthen the electronic communications and postal sectors.

Formed in 2001 through the merger of ECTRA (telecommunications) and ERC (radiocommunications), the ECC brings extensive expertise in electronic communications, supported by CEPT member administrations, specialist Working Groups, and the European Communications Office (ECO).
