one6G at IEEE WCNC 2024
On April 21-24, 2024, one6G representatives participated in the 2024 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC 2024) in Dubai where one6G endorsed two workshops, the 1st International Workshop on 6G for Connected and Immersive Intelligence and the 2nd Workshop on Integrated, Intelligent and Ubiquitous Connectivity for 6G Networks.
The 1st International Workshop on 6G for Connected and Immersive Intelligence aimed to become a forum to address technological research in support of the usage scenarios defined for the IMT-2030 vision, namely, (i) immersive communication, massive communication, and hyper-reliable and low-latency communication), (ii) coverage extension (e.g., ubiquitous connectivity), and (iii) service extension beyond communication. The workshop allowed for exchanging new ideas, identifying future directions, and putting in perspective major enablers of next generation innovation with the potential tofundamentally transform our economy, way of living and communicating and society.
The 2nd Workshop on Integrated, Intelligent and Ubiquitous Connectivity for 6G Networks provided a forum for sharing multidisciplinary contributions to the development of 6G networks that integrate communication, sensing, localization, and computation functionalities under connected intelligence and provide seamless ubiquitous connectivity. Aligning with Hexa-X-II’s activities to realize integrated, intelligent, and ubiquitous (IIU) connectivity in 6G, this workshop explored the integration and management of emerging technological trends including integrated AI and communication; integrated sensing, communication, computing and control; smart radio environments enabled by RISs and holographic radios; and integrated non-terrestrial-to-terrestrial connectivity.
