one6G at the EuCNC and 6G Summit 2024

Two one6G Working Group Chairs participated as speakers in a Convened Session organized by Huawei at the EuCNC and 6G Summit 2024, which took place in Antwerp on June 3-6, 2024. The session titled “Towards 6G enabled new business area via converged perception, cognition and control” gathered five experts from several areas, including 6G, robotics, AI, and XR who came together to discuss the use cases, requirements, and enabling technologies that may impact the mobile communication standardization landscape.

Among the speakers were Reinhard Lafrenz, Secretary General of euRobotics; Isabel De Peuter-Rutten, President of Euromersive; Adnan Shahid, Researcher at imec; Mohammad Shikh-Bahaei, one6G WG1 Chair and Professor at King’s College London; and Joseph Eichinger, one6G WG4 Chair and Senior Researcher at Huawei Technologies. The presentations covered various topics, from future connected and intelligent robotic systems; shaping the future of emerging technologies in the 6G era; large foundation models for telecommunications to 6G use cases on robotics and digital twin and 6G testbed and platform.

During the session, several speakers stressed the importance of educating the wider population on technological advancements and the ongoing digital transformation to ensure that innovation serves the society in a safe and transparent way. The session was very well-received by the audience who actively engaged with the speakers by asking insightful follow-up questions.

About the EuCNC & 6G Summit

The EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: the European Conference on Networks and Communications, supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, which originated from the 6G Flagship program in Finland.
