one6G turns 3 years old

3 years old

Three years ago today, we embarked on the exciting journey of evolving, testing, and promoting the next-generation cellular and wireless technology-based communications solutions. A lot has happened since March 2021:

  • Nearly 160 members from 31 different countries have joined our association, bringing together research excellence from ICTs, verticals, and academia.
  • our 4 Working Groups remained active on several fronts, taking new Work Items under their umbrella along the way. We now have 21 active Work Items, with new additions under consideration.
  • We released nine papers to date, the latest one summarizing the prototyping that took place in 2023.
  • We provided five critical contributions to the ITU-R‘s “IMT Vision for 2030 and Beyond” and look forward to providing further inputs, as invited.
  • We organized three editions of the one6G Summit, gathering hundreds of participants from across the world.
  • We attended dozens of events to exchange with the experts and network with the community.

But we don’t stop there! Building on the success achieved to date, we have already planned a lot for our fourth year of activity:

  • We relaunched Open Lectures: the next one will take place on June 20, 2024, at 14h00 CEST, covering the subject of “cell-free massive MIMO“.
  • We are endorsing the IEEE 1st International Workshop on 6G for Connected and Immersive Intelligence that will take place in April 2024 in Dubai, UAE.
  • We continue organizing our yearly flagship event, one6G Summit: the fourth edition will take place in September 2024, delving into standardization. Stay tuned, more info coming soon!

We are so excited to see what this year will bring and look forward to evolving, testing, and promoting the next-generation cellular and wireless technology-based communications solutions with the support of our members and the extended one6G community!
