White Paper “6G and eHealth: Use Cases and Potential Service Requirements – Vol. 2” released at the one6G Summit 2026
During the one6G Summit 2026, held in London, UK, on September 10–11, the one6G Association’s Working Group 1 released Vol. 2 of the White Paper on eHealth, titled “6G and eHealth: Use Cases and Potential Service Requirements.”
Building upon the foundational work presented in the first volume of the one6G eHealth white paper, “6G and eHealth: Use Cases and Potential Service Requirements”, the scope of the second volume is extended in the following key directions:

Survey of eHealth-related use cases in 6G-related standards development organizations (e.g., 3GPP, ETSI).

Identification of potential new use cases and requirements.

Comprehensive analysis of cross-domain standards and regulations, encompassing medical device standards, ethical frameworks, security protocols, and data privacy.
This volume of the white paper aims to take a step toward developing a holistic understanding of the eHealth ecosystem—encompassing its clinical, operational, and regulatory dimensions—with a primary focus on how mobile communication networks can serve as a valuable stakeholder within this broader system. By offering connectivity and beyond-connectivity services such as sensing, AI/ML, and compute services, mobile networks are positioned as active enablers of several eHealth use cases, such as remote monitoring, AI-driven diagnostics, and secure data exchange platforms across care settings. Their design must therefore address the stringent demands of healthcare, including privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, ethical AI, and patient safety. While regulatory baselines are essential, long-term adoption will ultimately depend on fostering user confidence through transparent, human-centric design that preserves patient trust.
