one6G vice-chairman presents at 5G Forum
On May 7, 2024, Prof. Narcís Cardona, one of the vice-chairmans of the one6G Board presented at the seventh edition of the 5G Forum in Seville, Spain.
Prof. Narcís Cardona, Director of the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM), Technical University of Valencia (UPV) and vice-chairman of the one6G Board, focused his presentation on explaining how AI will be part of many of the elements of the future 6G network, making it more efficient and secure, and how it will be progressively implemented in current commercial networks. As stressed by Prof. Cardona, “Mobile networks must evolve towards a structure where the elements are increasingly intelligent, in the sense of making them capable of managing and making decisions about their own operation.” Prof. Cardona’s presentation was very well-received by the audience who appreciated his thorough view on the subject.
About 5G Forum 2024
The seventh edition of the 5G Forum, “Where 5G leaders meet” was held at the Nissan Cartuja Auditorium in Seville from May 6 to 10 in a hybrid format, with two in-person sessions, (May 6-7), and three virtual ones (May 8-10). The 2024 edition recorded record numbers of in-person attendance – over 500 top-level professionals attended the event. 5G Forum brought together national, regional, and local authorities; the representatives of three large operators, MASORANGE, Telefónica, and Vodafone; the American multinationals Viavi Solutions, Mavenir, Red Hat and Tesla; and the Asian giants Huawei and ZTE, among others. In addition to featuring insightful presentations by top experts, the 5G Forum provided an exceptional demonstration area with smart cars, metaverse experiences, and 5G robots, among others.
