one6G member talks about ISAC in ComSoc Technology News Podcasts

one6G’s Richard Stirling-Gallacher of Huawei Technologies was recently invited to the IEEE CTN podcast hosted by Aryan Kaushik, the IEEE CTN Senior Editor and Professor at the University of Sussex to share his expertise and perspective on Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC).

ISAC has attracted significant attention from the academic community in recent years and it is now included in the ITU-2030 usage scenarios. The 3GPP has also initiated work on sensing and the integration of communication systems with sensing capabilities, with the objective to include support for ISAC in initial releases of 6G. Beyond academia, industry players are actively exploring how to implement and integrate these capabilities into products and services once the standards have been established.

Watch the 8th episode of the IEEE CTN podcast to hear what Richard Stirling-Gallacher, an ISAC expert says about the steps toward standardizing and commercializing this promising technology.
