one6G at ROSCon Global 2026

one6G representatives joined developers, researchers, and engineers in Toronto for ROSCon Global 2026, held on September 22–24, 2026. The annual international assembly serves as a core technical venue for the Robot Operating System (ROS) ecosystem, offering a three-day schedule of technical presentations, tutorials, and practical demonstrations spanning robotics software architecture, open-source libraries, and autonomous system frameworks.

Technical Session Focuses on Connectivity Requirements for Autonomous Systems

As part of the official program, one6G led a specialized technical session addressing the architectural requirements and operational capabilities of advanced cellular infrastructure in robotic deployments.

The session was organized and led by Javan Erfanian, Chair of one6G Working Group 2 and Senior Director of Strategy at the GTI Alliance. Javan delivered the opening address, laying out the baseline requirements for low-latency communication, distributed compute, and network-integrated sensing in future robotic architectures.

A panel of four domain specialists presented research across key technical areas, examining how 6G capabilities can support edge intelligence, swarm coordination, and real-time kinematic control. The presentations prompted technical inquiry from attendees during the closing panel discussion, with delegates continuing technical exchanges beyond the scheduled session.

Exhibition Presence Centers on Mobile AI and Architectural Integration

Alongside the technical track, one6G maintained an active presence on the exhibition floor throughout the conference.

The association’s exhibit served as a focal point for delegates reviewing recent technical reports, white papers, and research posters. Primary topics of technical exchange included:

  • Architectural Roles of Mobile Infrastructure: Requirements for low-latency transport and deterministic networking in remote robotic operations.

  • Mobile AI and Physical Intelligence: Offloading heavy inference workloads and sensory processing to cellular edge computing nodes.

  • Standards Alignment and System Integration: Aligning one6G technical roadmaps with open-source robotics development frameworks.

  • Academic and Professional Engagement: Technical discussions with university researchers and early-career engineers regarding communication protocols for autonomous systems.

Strengthening Telecommunication and Robotics Alignment

By bringing wireless expertise directly to the developer community, one6G continues to drive the alignment between emerging 6G specifications and real-world robotics operations. Fostering this interdisciplinary exchange ensures that future network standards effectively support the stringent latency, security, and performance demands of complex autonomous systems.
