one6G’s workshop at the European Robotics Forum
On March 15, 2024, one6G and euRobotics have jointly organized a workshop titled “Robotics and 6G” at the European Robotics Forum, which took place in Rimini, Italy. The main goal of the workshop was to discuss topics of common interest, success stories, use cases, and provide updates on recent developments in technology and applications.
At the beginning on the workshop, an overview of ideas for a future 6G environment were presented. After that, the opportunities and the “wishlist” from a robotics perspective were discussed, in addition to the potential use of 6G technology for different application domains. The presentations by one6G’s Josef Eichinger and Xueli An gave an overview from a 6G perspective. The following short statements regarding application areas and needs from a robotics perspective led to an interactive discussion round centered around three main themes: informing the robotics community about 6G; discussing use of 6G technology in robotics; and discussing needs of 6G technology from a robotics perspective.
